The Action and Solidarity for the Empowerment of Teachers (ASSERT), a national organization of teachers working for the advancement of teachers rights and welfare, quality and relevant education will sponsor a national consultation of education stakeholders on March 25, 2011, from 8am to 5pm on the K+12 or Enhanced Basic Education Program. The consultation aims to gather teacher-leaders from basic education and tertiary level, parents and other stakeholders to discuss and understand the present K+12 proposed by DepEd, deepen understanding of the fundamental problems in the education sector and make a specific plan on how to move forward. Participants to this consultation would be faculty club/association presidents, officers, representatives of different districts/divisions, PTCA officers and faculty union/club officers of SUCs nationwide. Necessary administrative support through the issuance of a memorandum to make your participation on Official Business is also requested. In this light, we would like to invite you to participate and join us in this very urgent consultation on March 25 at the Bulwagan Conference Hall, Quezon City Hall. For your reference, please see the attached copy of the program flow. A registration fee of five hundred pesos Php 500.00 will be asked from the participants to cover meals and administrative costs chargeable against local/organizational funds subject to usual accounting and auditing rules.
